Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Tragic Car Crash

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos confirmed on Wednesday night. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on December 29th, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his team members.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The sports star had been under observation while recovering from minor injuries, his management team stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to leave and heal privately.

“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.

Honoring the Deceased

The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”

This update on his health follows the sports world had expressed sympathy for the star in the aftermath of the devastating accident.
